Happy first day of December, loves! I’ve been a busy bee these last few weeks packing up gifts for the husband, putting up our Christmas tree, and doing TONS of Black Friday shopping. I’ve also been working on this lovely DIY that I originally made for the husband’s care package. It was so cute though that I wanted to share it with all of you. So here’s my December Memories advent calendar.
What You’ll Need:
- three pieces of white cardstock
- a paper trimmer or scissors
- glue stick/glue runner
- my Christmas Countdown printable sheets [download below]
How to Assemble your Advent Calendar:
This project is super simple! It only takes a few minutes to create once Christmas Countdown sheets are printed.
Start with 3 pieces of white cardstock. Using a ruler and a pencil, mark out every 2 inch on two of the cardstock sheets.
I used my paper trimmer, which makes things a lot easier, but you can also use scissors to cut the cardstock into 2 inch wide strips.
It will take about one and a half pieces of cardstock to make enough strips for the flaps of the advent calendar. Once you have nine strips of 2×12 pieces, measure out 4-inch increments (each strip should yield three 4×2 rectangles) and cut.
Fold each rectangle in half until you have twenty-five 2×2 squares. Tada! We have the flaps for our advent calendar!
Twenty-five squares fit perfectly on the remaining cardstock sheet in a row and column of fives. I estimated the distance between all my squares and found that starting in one corner and using a ruler to keep the remaining squares straight worked the best.
Use glue runner or a glue stick to adhere all 25 flaps to the cardstock.
If you didn’t already, print and cut the two sheets of my Christmas Countdown advent stickers. I printed them on cardstock but you could also print them onto sticker paper to make the process even easier. Arrange the circles from 1 to 25 and adhere them with glue runner or a glue stick.
Painting the graphics was truly a labor of love for me and I love that I get to share them with you. You can download the Christmas Countdown advent stickers below.

You could add photos or journaling to each of the flaps. I’ll be using this advent calendar to record my memories every day of December leading up to Christmas and I’ll add it to my 2017 scrapbooking album.
How about you? How would you personalize your own December Memories Advent Calendar?
