Another month down and another installment of links I love! This month I noticed a lot of the posts that stood out to me were about deployment so, if you’re a military wife going through a separation this is definitely the post for you.
As always, if you’ve read (or written) any great posts lately, leave the link in the comments below. I’m always looking for more blogs to follow!
Links I Love
+ Lindsay’s blog is a new discovery for me so I’ve been sifting through her archives and stumbled on this incredibly raw and sweet post about her experience with deployment reintegration. Lindsay has a gift for storytelling so while you’re on her blog, be sure to take a few moments to look around at the rest of her posts.
+ Somehow I always find posts to read on the days they are needed. I definitely needed to read this post and I’m sure there’s at least one military spouse reading this who needs to hear it too.
+ Can you tell this month I needed some deployment encouragement? Rachel’s post about the silver linings of deployment reminded me of the things I’m proud I accomplished during the past seven months and encouraged me to look on the bright side.
+ My girl Melissa just wrote a post about making military separations go by faster and I love her suggestions. Also, she is currently stationed at Fort Drum so if you’re looking for the best food and activity recommendations for the Thousand Island area, she’s your girl!
+ Recent events in my Facebook newsfeed reminded me of this article by Somewhere Devine. I use the guidelines Hailey suggests when posting photos of my daughter and I encourage everyone I know to do the same. If you’re a parent and have an online presence, I encourage you to give this a read.
+ I’ve decided that if I could only have one thing for breakfast every single day for the rest of my life it would be this strawberry shortcake smoothie. Seriously, y’all, it’s life-changing.
+ You all probably know by now how much I love Amberly and her posts about marriage and this month was no different. I loved at least four different posts from her this month but my favorite was this date idea revolving around music. I also feel like she’s living my dream of having a photographer follow her and her family around so I’m living vicariously through her blog!
+ Last but definitely not least, if you’re a parent you absolutely need to read this article about kids shows. (Confession? I sometimes keep watching Sophia the First after Baby E falls asleep. Parenting gets to you, you guys)
My Favorite #ODA Posts of the Month
+ Mamahood was on my mind a lot this month and I shared a few things I wish I’d known before having a baby.
+ I documented my very first Day in the Life ever and wrote about it on the blog. (Look for a memory keeping version coming to the blog in April.)
+ Making friends as a military spouse can be HARD and I had to remind myself that those of us who ‘don’t fit in’ are seen and heard.
