Hello March! The months seem to be flying by and I couldn’t be more happy about that fact. How about a few snippets from February?
+ We’ve already passed the halfway mark of this deployment–yay us! How early is too early to start thinking about homecoming? Asking for a friend.
+ With that in mind, what is your opinion on homecoming photos? The husband thinks it would be awkward to have a photographer hovering around but I’m leaning towards getting one. Thoughts?
Also, any suggestions for dresses to wear to this shindig? I’ve specifically asked for a dress in my Stitchfix box for this month but I’d like a few other options as well.
+ One of my blogging goals for this month was to publish two blog posts a week (in January my goals one post weekly) and I’m happy to report goal accomplished! Yay me!
+ It’s feeling like spring around here. E and I have been taking advantage of the warmer weather (it actually hit 50 degrees one day) with lots of walks and playground excursions.
+ On the memory keeping front, I’ve been steadily completing my weekly layouts for 2018 and filmed a super quick flip through of the weeks I’ve completed so far. Not every layout is perfect but my memories are documented and that’s what I’m focusing on.
+ Zach and I had a Valentine’s Day movie date watching Thor: Ragnarok which was really fun. I love that technology allows us to connect with each other from a world away. And the husband even surprised me with a Valentine’s gift (we don’t usually exchange gifts on Valentine’s so it was so sweet of him to order it for me)!
+ I’ve gotten back into creative journaling this month and I’ve been really loving it. I use a combination of acrylic/watercolor paints and fun sticker packs like this one.
+ I tried a brand new meal subscription box this month and I’m so excited to share it with you all because I’m in love. So much that I’ll be doing a giveaway this coming week to give TWO of you the chance to get a FREE box! Look for that post next Wednesday!
+ One of my blog friends introduced me to the Book of the Month subscription box and I’m loving it! This month I got two books – The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah and Uncommon Type by Tom Hanks.
I read The Great Alone in a span of two hours while the kiddo napped and it didn’t disappoint. This book in particular really struck a chord with me and had me sobbing throughout. I wouldn’t say it was my favorite book by her (that would still be Home Front and Winter Garden) but it was an amazing read and I would definitely recommend it to people who enjoy reading about strong heroines and family relationships. (5 out of 5 stars)
The second book I read this month was the Downton Abbey Script: Book One which is, as the title suggests, a script not an actual book. But I’m counting it anyway. Obviously, you won’t enjoy this book unless you really enjoy the TV show. I really loved getting a behind the scenes commentary and deleted scenes for the first season.
I never finished Code Name Verity so that and Uncommon Type are both on my list for March.
+ I’m sending out my third monthly newsletter tomorrow. So be sure, if you’re not already signed up, to check it out! I’ll be sharing a look at what’s coming to the blog in March as well as an exclusive printable.
Goals for March
- Post twice a week on Our Darling Adventure and twice weekly on my crafty Youtube channel.
- Do one sensory activity with Baby E every day.
- Read two books this month.
- Complete a Day in the Life photo series on the 15th.
Thanks for chatting with me! I’d love to know how your February went!
